  8. Kathy S. Davis is an ABD doctoral candidate in English with the Ohio State University.  She has been an 
  9. avid fan of the fantastic in film and literature since childhood, and she credits her with keeping her sane 
  10. amid the endless trials of graduate school.

  12. In recent years her work has developed a distinctly "Gothic" edge.  Perhaps this isn't surprising, since her 
  13. dissertation is titled "Taking Back the Night:  Twentieth-Century Vampire Fiction by Women."  Two of 
  14. the works she submitted for this CD have graced the covers of JOURNAL OF THE DARK, a classy little 
  15. amateur publication devoted to vampires.  Larger works have been displayed at MarCon, one of the largest 
  16. science fiction/fantasy conventions in the Midwest.

  18. Ultimately, Kathy hopes to be doing illustrations for a variety of publications, including books and cards
